Chief Executive Officer

Sean Rooney commenced in the NQPHN CEO role in early November 2023.

Previously, he served in senior leadership roles across public, private, and non-profit sectors, including pivotal roles at Australian Medicare Local Alliance and Leading Age Services Australia.

Sean has a deep understanding of health and aged care, and his passion lies within building on local partnerships between government and industry that deliver holistic care for all North Queenslanders so they can live happier, healthier, longer lives.

Northern Queensland Primary Health Network acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s First Nation Peoples and the Traditional Custodians of this land.

We respect their continued cultural and spiritual connection to country, waters, kin, and community.

We also pay our respect to their Elders past, present, and emerging as the custodians of knowledge and lore.
